Heemin Kang lab at Korea University

  • Laboratory Introduction

    Our members specialize in one of the following fields ('Synthesis of Nano-chemical Materials,' 'Nano-biomaterials,' and 'Biomedical Engineering') and conduct research through interdisciplinary collaborations.

    Graduate students (Master, Ph.D., and Integrated program) are provided with full tuition coverage and living expenses.
    Undergraduate research students are also offered with a stipend and given full opportunities to participate in experiments and publish research papers.

    In our laboratory, the supervising professor works closely with students throughout the entire course, from experimental design to manuscript preparation, offering approachable and comprehensive guidance on both research and career development. Additionally, we provide support for various scholarship incentives, regular lab trips, and domestic and international academic conferences.

    Starting in February 2025, Ph.D. graduates will be produced, and careers paths after earning the Ph.D. degrees are as follows.


    1Faculty positions in various departments related to material engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, chemistry, and others. 2Domestic and International National Research Institutes, such as the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), the Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS), and the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) 3Domestic and International Companies, such as LG Chem, LG Household & Health Care, Hyundai Motors, Samsung Display, Osstem Implants, and others.

  • How to Apply to the Undergraduate Researcher Recruitment

    Undergraduate research students are recruited at all times by the laboratory itself.

    In addition, undergraduate research students are recruited regularly in January and July every semester through undergraduate research student program in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Korea University in the following link.

    If there is no reason for disqualification in the admissions requirements of Korea University Graduate School, any student who is passionate about our research field is welcome.
